made brandy snaps for the christmas lunch the next day which was soooooooo complicated T____T i thought it was done when it "bubbled all over" but i mistook golden for 'golden brown' ie undercooked so it wouldn't harden and remained the consistency of slightly tough and sticky golden syrup T____T
baked it for a second time but then softened again after a few hours. realised later thanks to cc monic that you have to make these stuffs right before serving or they'll absorb air and fail.... *tear*

THURSDAY - christmas day
lunch with family! whilst the pets got ignored and chinta was protected from a kid's destructive hands by a closed gate.
and for les cadeaux....i got a laptop!!!!!!!!! weeeeeeeee my new table will look modern!!!!!! and other as appreciated gifts: a new yorker cartoon 2009 calendar, *super kawaii!* (say in the harajuku perfume ad style) sandal pin things in the shape of a cat head and ladybug, sandals, borders gift card (yippppeeeee!), pet magazine and pyjama shorts.
and as always. played cards lots.
and saw santa take off his beard omg disturbing. for a kid's heart.

FRIDAY - boxing day (the real significance still unknown to me)
city in the morning for "shopping". if you call socks and jasmine-milk bath powders shopping.
ate heaps - baked potatoes (chilli con carne flavour for breakfast hehe), pretzels that are 99% fat free (topped with icing sugar and chocolate), max brenners strawberry (milk chocolate) frappe with ice cream, kfc as popcorn.
watched benjamin button which was REALLY good and like the review, did not feel long though the movie was two hours plus. which i guess isn't that long... but the person next to me's breath stanked and he whispered A LOT to his girlfriend.

SATURDAY
continued my "shopping" - undies (very comfy actually), grey shirt
the last copy of perks of being a wallflower was bought T____T so i have to special order it.... it was so expensive man thirty something dollars for a regular/thin-ish book and also realised when i sat to read that the cat fell off my sandal and was lost T_____________________T!!!!!!!!!!

SUNDAY
cleaned hutches with a really depleted newspaper supply which i'm replenishing today.
went to the neighbour's party (late christmas? early new year's?) and ate

TODAY
ate at Pasteur in chinatown
visited the NEW T's Bookshop and drank iced coffee sitting on their nice large reading-room style leather chairs with a back and arm rest. but somehow it seems they have less books than the old crowded store..
got the book thief by Markus Zusak from Dymocks since it was 20% off :D
watched WALL-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i understand now why themovieblog.com picked it as the best movie of the year!!!! it was soooooooooooooo cute and sooooooo touching and sadddd and etc and they didn't show the humans living in space as mean and responsible for the earth like i thought! but more brainwashed and unaware. yea. wall-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

today yasmin came over with her rabbit, "Bruce", or "Bruce Bear" as she likes to call him.

He was soooooo round and fluffy and really a good rabbit - doesn't bite and not overly shy. this is the ultimate bunny man. but she found bernie and mimi scary T___T which is kinda true when you compare them... my one (still doesn't feel like it) is more like a hare than a pet rabbit since it's body is longer and face is sharper. the harness we tried to put on mimi couldn't even fit since her head was too small. T___T smaller brain?

yea anyways it was slightly frightening since Bruce seemed so calm and "docile" (haha she was saying if Bruce was a dog he'd be a labrador) and the other two was all hyper. but i find rabbits a bit scary since they move quick, and they don't make a sound like those silent villains in movies. like with a guinea pig you can tell what they're gonna do since they squeak or make chattering noises but rabbits are just so much more creepy. haiyah this is kinda sad. my rabbits are not that scary.

i let mimi out since girl and boy won't fight and i was wary of bruce potentially mounting mimi, but no. it was the other way around!! T_____T it was disturbing to see...

and even though "Bruce & Bernie" sounds like the ultimate guy-couple, Bernie looked too aggressive and hyper and bit Bruce from the inside of the cage!! (the T____T emoticon has lost all meaning)

so we didn't let them run around together in case anything happened. and when he was being bit, had no reaction! such a nice bunny!! (he is a bunny. less than half a year probably)

and when he met chinta,

but chinta, known for biting sophie when fiona put them together once, was looking a bit dangerous - her mouth was kinda opened. probably and most likely ready to bite. why are they all like this?

nothing happened though. and for the rest of the day, bruce just wandered around chinta's cage (she is inside) and behind the washing machine in the laundry. he didn't pee.

on another note....
sophie and bowlar went home yesterday and because the cage was all folded and put in the trunk of the car, they were put in the back seat of the car and walking around!! and they're quite talented too. when i was at their house - the person's house, not their cage - they can find their house (in another room) from the living room and climb the cage door to jump in to their house!

and they sleep so cute lying on their sides like this:

came across this book by Brian Selznick: The Invention of Hugo Cabret on the Borders website and can't wait til i see it in the shop!

the description of the actual book, more than the story, is what sounds most interesting:

This 526-page book is told in both words and pictures. The Invention of Hugo Cabret is not exactly a novel, and it’s not quite a picture book, and it’s not really a graphic novel, or a flip book, or a movie, but a combination of all these things. Each picture (there are nearly three hundred pages of pictures!) takes up an entire double page spread, and the story moves forward because you turn the pages to see the next moment unfold in front of you.

metal pen

the whole pen is metal and has no ink so that it doesn't run out ever. unless you drop it and break off the 'soft' nib.
it works on all types of paper but dunno how it works. apparently it's been used since medieval times.

resurrection plant (Rose of Jericho)

a small fern that grows in arid parts of the world and shrivels up and drops its flowers when its roots are dry, but turn green and unfurl again when moistened.

and this "dragon illusion" that i've seen in the clip of daniel radcliffe visiting a girl's magic high school in japan (youtube it. it's good)

where the dragon seems to be turning its head and following you when you walk left and right infront of it. you can even download the pdf so u can make your own dragon! hehe i did :D but hv to wait till i buy new printer ink to make it.

went to the finders keepers markets on saturday and got this! (kinda sad since there weren't any old frankies to be bought. and just found out that the back issues are mucho expensivo)

it's a "little golden book" (the ones you see in coles, bookshops for kiddies and has the golden edges) made into a journal by Rebound - btw i just realised that "twothousand.com.au" is cos sydney's postcodes are 2000 something. and there's a threethousand.com.au for melbourne!!!!

anyways.

yesterday was the slumdog millionaire advanced screening at paddington's palace verona cinema - the fundraiser for the RSPCA - and just as expected, there was A LOT of old people. probably only a handful were youthful. and it was so cute how before we went in they gave a small paperbag with biscuits or timtam and jellybeans XD

the movie was really good. i read that it won 3 awards at the BAFTAs - best director, film, upcoming actor - but since atonement won lots and it was kinda boring at times.. didn't want to get my hopes up. but no. there wasn't any boring bits in fact EVERYTHING was good. but since i suck at writing out a synopsis, go to twothousand.com.au's review on it.

oh and also i'm watching this new jap series called "bloody monday" about this hacker who helps save japan from a biological terrorist attack. ahhh addictive.. and just realised the main actor's the guy from koizora - the crazed movie which i haven't watched because it sounds too dramatic.

AND (hahaha keep forgetting things) memories of matsuko (kiraware issho no matsuko) was good too!

the story is this guy "sho" (played by eita!!) who's told by his dad to clean out his auntie matsuko's house because she has died (murdered actually) but he doesn't know anything about her since according to his dad, she was removed from the family and her life was meaningless.

and so the whole movie is duh "memories of matsuko" and i guess showing how her life's not meaningless. but it's not a soppy nostalgia, but more eccentric and laugh out loud funny at times (the characters, the musical scenes). At first though it's funny, exciting, empathy-causing, you're kinda wondering where the movie is gonna go, but the second-half makes sense of it all and it even becomes sad and touching.
can't really pinpoint the exact moment because then i'll spoil the unexpected-ness of the movie that makes it so good. and that's why i won't link any reviews of this movie since they're all too revealing.

and if you're very knowledgeable of jap culture, then the snippets of tv they show to represent the time period will be amusing. this jap guy sitting on the row behind was like "hikaru genji!" and "dango dango dango san kyou" in a soft excited whisper.

so..... yea watch these movies. 9/10 out of 10 as clearly described.

got a family pass to see BOLT!!!! hehehe it was an online competition from a Christian radio show lol that luckily happened to be on when they were advertising the comp :D :D :D :D yippeee!!

anyways, the rabbits came yesterday and the person brought them in a PROPER carrier case for pets. and the cage was a PROPER rabbit hutch with two levels and a section for sleeping and latches that open for easy cleaning. and in the bag of supplies, there was medicines for worming and mange mites (which have been actively used judging by the liquid level), PET nail clippers (which was so cute and small), a chewing TOY that looked like carrots (awwww) and a snack! such a responsible pet owner!!! and there was even a litter tray that was put into the poo area of the cage. how smart!

and for the actual rabbits....they were so cute!!! the grey and the brown colour was so perfectly smooth!
STATS:

Mimi - girl, brown, fertile, a bit shy
and both are nearly a year since the owners bought them in January

so i spent most of yesterday just sitting infront of their hutch and staring at them (does not get boring. ever) and fed them (ie bernie, since the girl was still shy) some grass - which can always beat freshly cut vegetables for some reason.

and then later let them run in the garage for like one plus hours, which they did. RUN or like hop ENDLESSLY. migod i was getting hungry since haven't eaten that day, but couldn't catch them without worrying that they'll be tramautised and scared of me. but finally can of course..and got scratches all over my arms :"( and now i figured out how to carry them properly - like a cat, but have to hold their hind legs together. like when my piano teacher holds the arms of her cat to stop him scratching lol.

and then at night, the SLUGS rose up from the ground onto the cage!!!! ihhhhh so gross so had to kick it off with my sandal, and squished a few in the process of moving the hutch from the backyard into the garage.

i will be getting two rabbits!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hehe since cc cindy's friend is going to indo for good and so needs a new caretaker for his/her rabbits!
so far, all i know is: they're dutch rabbits (a small rabbit but bigger than dwarf), adult already, been spayed, and come ready with their own cage, food bowl, drink bottle etc! yay yay yay

i hope their cage is easy to clean and most importantly not afraid of people and doesn't scratch like oreo

and look at the "aloha~" rabbits! so cute!

but probably sold out by now cos i "add to basket" it and when i clicked on it again, it was "out of stock". i wish they'd open up an aranzi aronzo store here T___T. (or else i can just go to hong kong, taiwan, oosaka or fukuoka i wish) and why shipping fee so expensive especially to "oceania" *tear*

oh oh. just remembered there's such thing as clay! can always make your own cups and then draw on it right.... (omg copyright infringement) but the plastic ones are so much cuter!

oya btw there are 2 more guinea pigs at home right now: sophie and bowlar, since my friend went on holidays for three weeks. they're so cute and tubby! and of real guinea pig size! they live in a mansion which is obviously very big, and i'm guessing get fed vegetables often so when i give them some, they eat slower and less excited-ly than chinta. i'll put up the photos later...when they're in a cleaner environment next tuesday.

and made some peanut butter cookies few days ago from a cakespy recipe,

and it was slightly too sweet. but still tolerable. probably cos i used caster sugar for the "sugar" in the ingredients list so i shall use raw sugar next time (but the cookie dough tasted better than the actual cookie).
i wanna find a chewy/soft cookie recipe next time, instead of the crumbly buttery ones.
why sara lee don't you make your cookie dough no more T___T they were so good...and it's been a while since i've bought mrs fields white choc and milk choc cookies ahhhhhh shall visit them tomorrow

good thing i bought "The Hana to Yume" from kino yesterday! even though the hana-kimi special ended up being really short and not really about nakatsu/sano/mizuki....i found toraware gokko!!!

hehehe i really hope there will be an english version soon.

and there was also this yomikiri (one-shot) titled: 青と海辺のノスタルジア (romaji: oo to umibe no nostalgia)

about the main character, "osamu" who kept on finding olden day japanese objects ( from the 20s taisho era) on the beach, and one day found a girl that looked like she came from that period as well.
should google it. it was good. like "forever honey" by kanno aya. not the story, but the "readable" factor.

and after strolling through the archives of jfilmpowwow.blogspot.com, found another manga series!! hehe: detroit metal city by kiminori wakasugi and it's soooooooooooooooooooooooo funny!!
the story's this guy negishi who moved to tokyo to become a pop artist (he says swedish pop so like the ultimate pop - abba pop) but for some reason he ends up being the lead singer of a popular, indie death metal band called "detroit metal city" and he looks like this on stage as "Krauser the 2nd":

and the funniest bits is when he looks all depressed because no one finds his original (pop) songs any good - it has lyrics about baking cheese tarts, holding hands, going shopping for matching clothes.

watch the ending theme of the anime if u wanna hear how they interpreted it (yes it has an anime, and the movie with ken matsuyama - the guy who plays L in the death note movie- is playing now in japan) - there's one on youtube of the opening and the ending, called satsugai/amai koibito just google that (dunno the quality though, since comp slow and haven't watched it)
ahahahhaha the ending song (amai koibito = sweet lover) it's sooo the opposite of the opening (satsugai = kill) .. i won't even type what it talks about because it's soooooo ...death metal-ish. even though this is the only example i know of

and negishi always clashes with DMC fans (who dress up like the band and never talks of krauser without "san" or "sama" ending his name) and so to save himself he starts playing air guitar or singing lyrics from DMC songs (which he created and is really the singer of) but then gets carried away being krauser-san and ends up offending the girl he likes and is often with - aikawa san- like in one scene he gets drunk in karaoke after drinking milk kahlua and after singing DMC songs, he spits at aikawa-san's face, but he realises what he did after and pretends to vomit ahahahhahaha:

ahahhaha today in english we were analysing this poem, and there was a description about shells rattling on rocks or something, like on a beach... and then ms k was saying how shells are skeletons, exoskeletons, and that the image of them rattling symbolised the fragility of humanity...

(and of course australian idol lol. who can not watch it, seriously)

i only knew about it yesterday after reading an OK magazine article about Rove being the Australian ambassador for this conservation organisation

Fauna & Flora International was established over a century ago. Founded in 1903, it was the world’s first international conservation organization and the pioneering work of its founders in Africa led to the creation of numerous protected areas, including Kruger and Serengeti National Parks.

Expanding beyond its African origins, Fauna & Flora International succeeded in giving conservation a voice on the international stage, drawing worldwide attention to the plight of rare and endangered species.

It was instrumental in establishing much of today’s global and local conservation infrastructure, including organizations such as the World Wide Fund for Nature, IUCN - The World Conservation Union, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora and conservation instruments such as the Red List of endangered species.

personally FFI seems more...traditional? as in its actions cause direct change - compared to WWF (though not saying anything bad about them) who sell merchandise, run protests, etc etc which costs money, but not directly benefitting the conservation efforts.

What we do with your donations

What we do

Over 88% of FFI's income goes directly to conservation on the ground supporting over 180 projects around the world.

The rest goes towards covering the core costs that are necessary to make those projects happen, such as postage, telephone, electricity, rent and staff salaries. These may not sound glamorous but the field work couldn’t be done without them.

Core costs also include the production of our publications (Oryx, FFI magazine and our quarterly newsletter) and maintenance of this website, which are all vital for reporting back on our progress to our supporters, members and peers.

yesterday there was a mouse/rat (dunno it was the leftovers) in the backyard, and it had these small worms in it....so supposing one of the cats ate it (or both) and got the worms, had to buy t he super expensive $10 for 2 tablets for whatever worm it was...

cotti was first, cos she appeared and meowed first in the morning... and so i tried giving it to her (i gave her a panadol once and it was very easy - but maybe cause she was sick and had no energy to fight back) but then i gave the tablet and after she tasted it she started salivating and the pill popped back out -___- .
so had to give it to her three times before she ate it (and it smelt pretty gross like a true medicine smell) and by the time she swallowed it there was like a clump/line of bubbly medicine/saliva junk on her mouth and on her chin

next phoebe's turn, and since i'm not even gonna try touching her mouth, i smothered the thing with butter and then wrapped it in two layers of ham (i didn't look at the price tag on the wrapper...but it looked like the yum kind) and then i gave it. she ate it. that was it.

o well. i know next time what to do. sorry cotti! hope u get better! (preferable if there wasn't anything to get better-ed in the first place)

yes, the mandatory english task rant... i'm halfway done, and actually like the poem which i have to write about next, but of course, c'est tres difficile pour commencer.
anyhoo, for some happier news, got mail from morisson media yesterday, which is of course the frankie mag publisher... and i got a voucher for one graniph t-shirt!! yayy since i filled out a reader survey a few months ago but i forgot about it until now and so i'm happy now yayyyyyyy :D :D they give quality freebies yes yes.

i watched the end bits of a documentary yesterday on sbs called "HOLIDAYS IN THE DANGER ZONE: PLACES THAT DON'T EXIST" narrated by Simon Reeve (hmmm name sounds familiar...) and it was about Somaliland (not Somalia), a place that had its own government, but it's not recognised as a country by the world.

what i wanted to make but...

supposed to be for a french party at the end of last year, but since the recipe was in english, it was rejected. even though it was SOO appropriate and french-y.

Little Leek and Brie Tarts
from the woman's weekly online recipe-finder.

4 sheets ready-rolled butter puff pastry
40g butter
2 large (1kg) leeks, sliced thinly
2 cloves garlic, crushed
200g brie, sliced thinly (though i'm sure larger chunks would be good too...migod me want!!)

Note: tarts can be made several hours before, then reheat the tarts and add the brie just before serving.
suitable to freeze but not for microwave.

1. preheat oven to 200 degree celcius (180 degree celcius fan-force).
grease a 24-hole patty pan tray (2tbsp/40ml capacity)
2. cut circles about 7cm wide from the pastry sheets.
place circles into the patty pan holes.
Freeze while preparing filling.
3. heat butter in a large frying pan. add leek and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes or until leek is soft, but not coloured.
4. divide the leek mixture among the pastry cases in the patty pan tray.
5. Bake uncovered in oven for about 18 minutes or until bases are browned (cover tarts loosely with foil if they are over-browning midway in oven)
6. Top each tart with slices of brie and bake for further 1 minute or until cheese is melted.

Croissant Berry Mille Feuille
from the ninemsn.com.au recipe finder in the french section
sounds so refreshing! ahhh imagining a tea party in a huge garden now.

4 small croissants
125ml thickened cream
250g mascarpone cheese
1/2 tsp vanilla paste
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh strawberries, quartered
icing sugar, to dust

1. preheat oven to 180 degree celcius (160 degree celcius fan-force)
2. slice croissants into 3 horizontally and bake in oven for 15 minutes until golden.
remove from oven and allow to cool.
3. Meanwhile, place cream in medium bowl and whisk with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Fold through mascarpone, icing sugar and vanilla paste.
4. Spread cream mixture over base of croissants and top with strawberries and raspberries.
Place next croissant layer on top and top with more cream and berries.
Put remaining croissant layer on top and dust with icing sugar.

serves 4

Apple and Sour Cream Slice
i've posted the picture of this before already (browse if ur bored)
from the good weekend magazine

200g self-raising flour
150g caster sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut
125g butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs, lightly beaten
300g sour cream (ahhhh~)
2 apples, pelled and coarsely grated by hand
2 tbsp brown sugar

1. preheat oven to 160 degree celcius.
2. mix flour, sugar, coconut in bowl.
Add butter and vanilla, mix well until evenly combined
3. Press firmly into the base of a greased and lined 25cm square tin.
4. Bake for 20 minutes

while the base cooks, prepare topping.
5. mix eggs with sour cream until smooth (should look like a yummy mound of cream).

when base comes out from oven,
6. increase temp to 180 degree celcius.

7. spread grated apple (not too juicy) evenly over base.
sprinkles with brown sugar
pour the sour cream mixture over.
8. bake for another 20-30 minutes or until top is set and starting to colour.
9. allow to cool thoroughly before slicing with a sharp knife into 3-4cm squares.

serves 16.
it's really nice when it's cold - so put it in the fridge!
and since it's got egg and sour cream, eat it on the day!! - or store it in the fridge and look out for unusual growth. otherwise you'll be sad when it grows mouldy and you have to throw it out T_____T (memories...)

Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta with Chicken
from a food-tech practical task, really yummo! ahhh creamy and dried-tomato goodness...

1 chicken fillet
1 tbsp oil
100g sun-dried tomatoes
150ml thickened cream (low fat. or not.)
1 tsp garlic
1/2 onion
1 sachet tomato paste
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp rosemary
1 cup paste (penne is good for this)

1. boil and cook pasta.
2. cut chicken into thin slices, tomato into quarters, dice onion.
3. fry chicken using half the oil.
4. in another pan, lightly fry onion and garlic with the other half of oil.
add cream, tomato paste, tomatoes and combine well.
add herbs and simmer until a nice consistency.
5. serve hot pasta with chicken and sauce on top.

serves 1-2 (i found it hard to finish... maybe.... 1 and a half?)

Pumpkin Gnocchi with Garlic Herb Butter
from food-tech again. soooo good the butter is so buttery ahhh.. kinda those sort of dish where a little will fill you up. but in a good way.

Gnocchi:
250g peeled pumpkin, diced
2/3 cup plain flour
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Sauce:
45g butter
1/2 tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp sage
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp lime juice

1. set up two pots of boiling water - one salted.
2. cook diced pumpkin in the plain boiling normal until tender.
Drain well and mash.
3. add flour, nutmet and seasoning to mash and mix well.
4. pipe mixture (or use two spoons) into the boiling salted water.
poach for 5 minutes.
5. place sauce ingredients in small pan until the butter melts.
6. drain gnocchi and put in pan with the sauce and mix gently.
7. place gnocchi in heatproof serving dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese
8. brown lightly in grill

serve!
serves... forgot. probably 2? dunno check for urself.

apparently there's this berry, synsepalum dulcifium (haha i nearly typed falciparum vivax since just finished doing a biology research. anyways.) which can change the way your taste buds work after you chew and swirl the pulp around in your mouth!
"turning sour tastes sweet and sweet tastes even sweeter...chewing the fruit releases a glycoprotein called miraculin, which reacts to the acids present in sour foods and temporarily masks your mouth's ability to taste them...(lasting) about 30 minutes on average."

wow, kinda like a natural Willy Wonka candy!

yea anyways.
kinda haven't found a small-ish but good recipe site (since don't wanna browse through millions of recipes if don't have anything specific to look for), so decided to post some of my favourite recipes up :D (most of them are from my food-technology days in year 10 hehe)

Australian Damper
smells sooooo nice when it comes out of the oven!

2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
3 tbsp butter
1 cup milk

1. preheat oven to 180 degree celcious.
1. mix flour, salt, sugar in bowl.
2. cut butter to cubes and rub into the mix until combined.
3. add milk.
4. knead lightly on floured board until smooth (like a baby's bum).
5. shape into round loaf, brush with milk.
6. bake for 30-40 min or until loaf makes a hollow sound when tapped.

serves 4

Bush Tomato Dip
(to go with the damper)

300ml sour cream (no wonder it's nice :D)
2 tbsp basil
4 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 dash Tabasco
1 tsp mountain pepper
2 tbsp bush tomato

mix ingredients in blender

serves 4

Chocolate Fudge Brownies
from a topic about 'health' but as you can see... who cares about the "reduced fat butter"

90g butter
330g caster sugar
50g cocoa
110g plain flour
75g self-raising flour
3 egg whites, beaten lightly
icing sugar (to dust)

1. preheat oven to 180 degree celcius.
2. grease a 19 x 29cm slice pan, line base with baking paper.
3. combine butter, sugar in medium bowl.
stir in the sifted cocoa and flour. (it looks kinda dry but should be wet-ish after the egg whites added)
4. stir in egg whites.
5. spread mixture into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 min
6. cool in pan
cut into portions
dust with icing sugar

serves (i dunno really, depends on how big you cut it) if small-ish squares..... 15?
7. dust with icing sugar

when i was in year 8 (i think) i made a narrative about a pig who was afraid of germs, and lookie what was recently in the news!
(read this in mx a few days ago, and now found the link online)

Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble were at a loss, until they remembered the four miniature wellies used as pen and pencil holders in their office. They slipped them on the piglet's feet - and into the mud she happily ploughed.

Now she runs over to Mr Keeble so he can put them on for her in the morning.

The couple, who run the award-winning Debbie and Andrew's sausage company in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, named the young saddleback Cinders after Cinderella and her magical glass slippers.

Fortunately for five-week-old Cinders, she will not end up in one of their sausages. Although they were pig farmers for 20 years, the Keebles keep them only as pets nowadays.

'I don't know what will happen as she gets bigger,' said Mr Keeble.

'Hopefully she will grow out of her phobia of mud before she needs a new set of boots.'

it's my birthday today! for some reason not as excited as previous years, probably cos of the school-aura paranoia-ing me but anyhoooo
woke up very comfortably from a new blanket that mum brought out - so warm ahh- then ate mi goreng with fried egg for breakfast, then went to school.

Got a rose from jessie stuffed with some lollies and chocolates and overall a pretty normal day, besides the lack of rain (hmm).
had tummyache until like lunchtime - so felt like shitting but thank goodness it disappeared, always after mi goreng.
Was at the bus stop waiting to go to bondi for maths tutoring workshop but remembered about the rose which i put at the library, but when i got there, it was gone! :"( somebody else took mine and left a lonely gerbera instead, that was kinda mean of them, but i kinda felt bad cos somebody got it for me and it's kinda wasted..

i happened to leave my phone at home today, and realised supposed to meet 'dori if i wanted "sthing" hahaha lol but felt so bad tsk tsk tsk of all the days i had to leave my phone haiyah.
and apparently she came to the tutor place but i left already! migosh.

anyhoo got home and read b'day wishes with cute picture messages, showered, cleaned guinea pig, fed the kinda thin-looking phoebe, ate dinner, blew candles, opened presents, ate mini tarts! they were so cute!

*update and yuuummy - so far i like the lemon one (middle) and berry one (bottom left), i stil have the chocolate one to go :D
got pyjama pants with cute pockets on the side,

more pyjamas with cute drawstrings and a new mobile phone! It's finally upgraded to one with colour and camera. There's even a program with it so i can upload music into it easily kinda cool actually...and it's really light!

had another "maths enrichment" lesson at st. mary's cathedral college yesterday; learnt about the rates of change topic. felt very studious going to a maths thing after school by ourselves on the bus without the teacher. It was quite good - but hoping more for the exponential growth and decay stuff which is in the next lesson. Finished at 5:35, ready to get out, it was already dark and raining and when we got to the front gate to go out, it was locked!! haiyah and everyone had left the school already by that time (dunno what happened to the lady who was still at the class) so some people had to climb over the fence which was slightly taller than me. In the rain, dark, and wearing kilts..

but of course some of us were reluctant, so opted for the alternate path on the other side of some bush/shrubberies with a lower wall to climb over and just a fence to jump down from (way easier)...

and figured out the next day (ie today) that this was not the first time it happened (-___-#)

anyways. had a hair cut after, and now my hair is short :D (kinda reminded me of dalki at first, but not anymore thank goodness)

and somebody else fell down and got bruised today. this is a very pain-causing winter.

and we managed to do it all in the one and a half hour time limit! hohoho legs and arms so sore though, cos stood the whole time and had to shake the flask..

did my music theory test yesterday, dunno if passed or not, but it's done! yay!
and today realised that i had a biology excursion!! and also, i got to go home from school early!! hehe :D

had a bio excursion to UNSW museum of human disease, and it was actually pretty interesting... there was A LOT of specimens. there was this kidney slightly bigger than an A4 size paper, a skin/"horn" thing which grew out of some person's elbow, gangrenous limbs, and a kinda sad one with a real four-week old baby whose mum died in a car accident - it was fully formed already, just like a tiny version of a baby with 10 toes and everything.
basically there was a section for every type of disease thinkable! (by me anyways)
and so...i think i'm gonna take the UMAT. just in case.
(actually should i? eh? eh? eh? haiyah..) - u need it for medicine/optometry/dentistry/pharmacy - not my choices actually... but kinda similar.... animal-y? oman..

anyways... pulled a thumb muscle whilst lifting my french dictionary.

i finished reading fruits basket and hana-kimi online and it's so good!! and also finished watching summer heights high... i love jonah's character! but felt so sorry for him though, at least a happy ending..sorta..

also watched more of chi's sweet home!! up to episode 9 (just found out that chi got her name because whenever the little boy and the family say "chi" as in "pee", the kitty thought it was her name! ohhh cho cute!)and yesterday watched moyashimon up to ep.6 and the first episode of vampire knight.....ahh holidays are good...

and watched Horton Hears A Who today!!! it was quite good, it'd be better if it was more funny, but it was definitely a Dr.Seuss story, yes. kids. it teaches you a lesson *nods* the movie definitely gets better (ie really good) towards the end though, such a shame the beginning a bit slow (i thought)

and btw "emo" kids around at dr.seuss' time? maybe he's just ahead for his time
