and somehow she used the phrase, "bone imagery" to ID the technique hahahahahhaha!!!!
yea. kinda had to be there. but me and J was like looking down at our tables in case she sees our laughing at her ingenious concoction of a new technique identification.
and we were sitting at the front and the middle kinda at the centre of her view
yea dunno about other people, but seriously can't stop laughing man (silently of course and with a lot of facial shaking) hahahhahha
and my english books had pictures of kogepan in it, so i was like, "bread imagery" hahahahhaha!!!
ahh..

and the length makes it look like my arms are super short.
o well. they are attakai desu!

what i wanted to make but...
Little Leek and Brie Tarts
from the woman's weekly online recipe-finder.
4 sheets ready-rolled butter puff pastry
40g butter
2 large (1kg) leeks, sliced thinly
2 cloves garlic, crushed
200g brie, sliced thinly (though i'm sure larger chunks would be good too...migod me want!!)
Note: tarts can be made several hours before, then reheat the tarts and add the brie just before serving.
suitable to freeze but not for microwave.
1. preheat oven to 200 degree celcius (180 degree celcius fan-force).
grease a 24-hole patty pan tray (2tbsp/40ml capacity)
2. cut circles about 7cm wide from the pastry sheets.
place circles into the patty pan holes.
Freeze while preparing filling.
3. heat butter in a large frying pan. add leek and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes or until leek is soft, but not coloured.
4. divide the leek mixture among the pastry cases in the patty pan tray.
5. Bake uncovered in oven for about 18 minutes or until bases are browned (cover tarts loosely with foil if they are over-browning midway in oven)
6. Top each tart with slices of brie and bake for further 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
Croissant Berry Mille Feuille
from the ninemsn.com.au recipe finder in the french section
sounds so refreshing! ahhh imagining a tea party in a huge garden now.
4 small croissants
125ml thickened cream
250g mascarpone cheese
1/2 tsp vanilla paste
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh strawberries, quartered
icing sugar, to dust
1. preheat oven to 180 degree celcius (160 degree celcius fan-force)
2. slice croissants into 3 horizontally and bake in oven for 15 minutes until golden.
remove from oven and allow to cool.
3. Meanwhile, place cream in medium bowl and whisk with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Fold through mascarpone, icing sugar and vanilla paste.
4. Spread cream mixture over base of croissants and top with strawberries and raspberries.
Place next croissant layer on top and top with more cream and berries.
Put remaining croissant layer on top and dust with icing sugar.
serves 4

but of course some of us were reluctant, so opted for the alternate path on the other side of some bush/shrubberies with a lower wall to climb over and just a fence to jump down from (way easier)...
and figured out the next day (ie today) that this was not the first time it happened (-___-#)
anyways. had a hair cut after, and now my hair is short :D (kinda reminded me of dalki at first, but not anymore thank goodness)
and somebody else fell down and got bruised today. this is a very pain-causing winter.

: )
and today realised that i had a biology excursion!! and also, i got to go home from school early!! hehe :D
had a bio excursion to UNSW museum of human disease, and it was actually pretty interesting... there was A LOT of specimens. there was this kidney slightly bigger than an A4 size paper, a skin/"horn" thing which grew out of some person's elbow, gangrenous limbs, and a kinda sad one with a real four-week old baby whose mum died in a car accident - it was fully formed already, just like a tiny version of a baby with 10 toes and everything.
basically there was a section for every type of disease thinkable! (by me anyways)
and so...i think i'm gonna take the UMAT. just in case.
(actually should i? eh? eh? eh? haiyah..) - u need it for medicine/optometry/dentistry/pharmacy - not my choices actually... but kinda similar.... animal-y? oman..
anyways... pulled a thumb muscle whilst lifting my french dictionary.

yippeeeee!
had the french party today, and there was soooooooo much food!!! the whole day we stayed in the french room and ate hohoho let's see what i can remember we had:
tabouli
hummus
lebanese bread
chilean cake called "queen's arm"
nasi uduk
lodeh
chocolate truffles
almond and citrus cake
chocolate cake
leek quiche
fruit cocktail
curry puffs
apple tart
maple syrup tart
pear tart
hot chocolate
sounds good ei!!! and it was! ahhhh but my stomach is so full now...
and the teacher, Mr. P shaved his head in a mohawk today, to raise money for the world youth day next year.
also got my english speech mark back!! i was soooo surprised! thought was gonna get 14 max out of 20, cos the teacher was talking about "some of you feel into clichés and so it was hard to get out of the C range", and i was talking about prince charming/fairytale, but apparently mine wasn't cliché-y i guess..? and i got a 17!!! yayyyyyyyyyyyy
ok
c'est tout.

c'etait une bonne jour
we watched a movie in French (thought was gonna have a crap time with ms. t the weird asian teacher that seems racist to her own kind!) called "la Choriste", about this teacher who came to this boys' boarding school in the 50s etc, and about him making his own choir from his usually rowdy class. Really good movie so far, i hope i can finish watching it.
Then in chem, went to the computer room and played this titration simulation on the internet, and it was so cool! why can't we just get tested online... instead of doing the actual prac.... takes ages!! (and it's worth 20%!!! omgomgomgomg)
then had phoenix, and i finished whole past booklet!!! yayyy
and at home, watched "the Secret" with jay chou in it, and all the piano playing were so cool!! i'm gonna go google for the OST and the music scores now :D
*update* i found the (unofficial but good enough) scores! yayyy!

news:
but, still, i'll report to you new things that happened:
drove around the block in the car - scary, moved very slowly
watched ratatouille - sooooooooo good!!! unintentionally laugh out (really) loud funny at times; i even downloaded the song "le festin" by camille (actually i downloaded the whole soundtrack :D)
something sad: the school principal died today, the assembly was so strange because everyone was quiet even before the teacher shushed them.
fed biscotti the new whiskas "so fishy" range, and the food was "too fishy", that she couldn't stop licking her mouth and cleaning her face, and couldn't even finish the whole pouch! and when i gave the leftover (there was a lot) to phoebe, she couldn't finish it either!!
and a funny thing she did: she wanted to pee, but instead of digging a hole in the sand to pee in, she looked for an already dug up part of the sand, so she didn't have to dig... so lazy...
another sadder news - koshi's fungi skin problem is back. i tried shampooing him with the special shampoo, but not working, and he's really thin, not moving, and his eyes are wayyyy in his eye socket, and there's secretions coming out of it...
and he can't even chew food properly anymore, i gave him pellets, and he tried to chew it, but it just fell out, or if he does manage to swallow it, he really struggles.
haiyah, why now when i have exams and when i'm going to go away soon *sigh*
don't want him to die, but don't want him to suffer either... *sigh*

miaow
and this morning, i heard mama waking up at around 6 something, and saying "kok biscotti di dalem!?" (why is biscotti inside?!) hahahhaha but i was too tired to get up from my bed, so continued to sleep... until i woke up and it was 8:20am already!!! only 15 minutes till school starts! so rush rush rush and of course since i'm rushing, got no time for mama to question me about why the cat is inside the house hehe
amazingly, left the house at 8:28, arrived 8:38. just 2 minutes away from being marked late :D *yea!*
getting jap visa tomorrow! yay leave school early!
btw, it's science week at school! and there are three very science-y events going on:
guess the scientists - 12 pictures of scientists and have to figure out who they are. only have four to go! but someone else will probably finish it before us.
murder mystery - a girl died and a teacher killed her. clues (one released every day until friday) so far:
killed 4:30 pm on monday
murderer left a wet shoe print (high heels, size 5-6)
lipstick mark on tissue
blood and hair samples
shopping list
50c coin
so.... it's a female teacher who wears lipstick... (or a male teacher who pretended to be a girl?)
science show - in the main quad with liquid nitrogen (again) but not sure, cos it's been raining and plus might not be able to get the liquid nitrogen.

a frustrating dialogue:
"there's no sign on W------ St again"
"there's been a time before when there was no sign?"
"just then"
"but you said again"
"..."
"again means it's happened before"
"i don't get you."
"nvmind!"
*a shortened and summarised version.
anyways, learnt about imaginary numbers today. i i i i i !
*update - just realised that typing my address on the internet is really stupid so i bleeped the name out now hehe :D

:"( and : )
gonna be so bored at home....
and for some happier news...today was the school's "founder's day". usually we have two days of 'celebration', one for the mass at church, and the other for the activities like the talent quest, costume parade and other stuff...but this year, they squashed it all into one day!! cos the reason was "we couldn't book the church" (even though you only need it for one day anywayss)
anyhoo. had mass, then went back to school and played a "game", which turned out to be pass the parcel!! hahaha yes, year 11's still play this game :D but some people passed it on soooo slowly, cos they want to get the parcel, but ya. and while playing (we sat in a huge circle in the main quadrangle), there was this lock of blonde hair -dunno real or not- that just blew around terrifying people... so disgusting, but then someone picked it up and stroked it!!! hahahahah sooooooo disgusting, but funny! after that, ate sausage sizzle, (which is sausage on one slice of bread) and coles orange juice popper which weren't very filling..... den went to the ritz to watch fantastic 4 and had tons of popcorn and coke, so was full after that.
(my hands are frozen and i'm typing slow/weirdly so if my entry a bit crapper than usual don't be surprised)
verdict on the movie: usual what you expect from a sequel - crapper than the first one, pretty short and the dialogue is very.... 'comic-like'.... especially the invisible woman's dialogue.
eg. *to the 'evil' silver surfer*
"why are you destroying our planet?"
"i don't have a choice"
"everybody has a choice"
and den bla bla bla she says later to him: "what's your name"
and he later says to her: "i saved you because you remind me of her" (her = the person he loved from his planet............. and he showed the planet to the invisible woman by making his stomach area into a type of screen with an image of a rotating rocky planet in it).
it sounds wayy cheesier when ur actually watching it.
went to easties after to buy hay, but the pet area in big w got changed! even the sign saying 'pets' was gone, and the shelves were empty :"(
so went home empty-handed...........and wen arrived at home, found my report.
got good, but as always, there's always something that bothered me! in the chemistry comment: "ancella is a positive student.....applies chemistry skills well (or something of that line).....*insert more positive comments here*....but i was disappointed with her exam results" watttttt!!!? yea, did got sorta average-y, but i was above the average by quite a few marks!!! o well. ladidadiadailiadliaia~
and got the same mark as J on the maths test, and so should've gotten the same rank (cos we don't do any other assessment tasks) but she got one higher than me!!!
changing topic to something more stupid/frustrating/funny (if it happened to someone else, that is)
two days ago, it was raining, and i had to go to the back to clean the guinea pig cages...but all the sandals were wet, so i used my school shoes.
and den stupid me got so happy with finishing cleaning all their poo-infested newspaper that i came back into the house, washed my hand and did watever to waste time. forgetting that my shoe was still outside!!! unprotected from the rain!!!
so, next day, already late going to steffi's house to get driven to school, but i can't find my shoe!! and i remembered that i wore it the day before and left it outside the door to go to the backyard. so i went, and then saw it drenched cos i forgot to put it in and so it was left overnight in the super noisy rain which lasted for a few hours!!!!!!
so i was going omg omg omg omg, and having those moments where people who don't usually curse feel like cursing. and even more stupider, just to check if the shoe was really wet, i put my foot (and tights) into it, and yep, it is. so i run to the bathroom, carrying my stupid turtle-shell school bag, slipping on the way and falling onto my butt cos my stocking was wet, to hairdry the shoe. and the hairdryer decided to stop working just 5 seconds after i turn it on!!!!! gaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!! so stressed stressed.... cc yeni got me paper towel and so piled it on the sole of the shoe, and decided to do something about it at school, where there is a handdryer in the toilet which hopefully works.
basically every start of class i spent in the bathroom standing shoeless, holding it up to the hand dryer, and piling tissue paper to absorb the rainwater..... i was so desperate i even went to the office and asked, "do you have a spare shoe? mine got wet in the rain" but i think the lady thought only the outside got wet cos she said, "no, sorry darling... but i think everyone's having the same problem in this type of weather"... haiya..... anyways, it finally dried at lunchtime.
wat else. wat else...... i'm gonna take my L's test on wednesday after school! hopefully i pass cos don't want to pay to retake it again... i took the sample one on the RTA website and only got 2 questions wrong and so therefore passed!! hehe
okay. better sleep now. it's 11:37!!
(btw, being a cheapo that i am, i subscribed to the borders mailing list using my old email address from year 5 so that i can get a "20% off one item" coupon! and i printed out 4 copies cos you can't bookmark the page. and got one few days ago from juliet..so i have 5. i wonder how many times i'm gonna go to the cashier tomorrow.....)
night!
oh oh something else!! got an email saying big w is having a "grand opening" of a new "pet centre" and the first 200 customers that buy a purina product gets a free sample bag of their stuff worth over $20!!!!
i'm gonna go to eastgardens in the morning on saturday just to get this :D and get newspaper too, so not totally time wasting.
Thursday, April 05, 2007
yoih, finally!
hehehhehehehehhehe happy happy happy
but i'm already bored and this is the first day.
lalala
time for another list!! hehe cos i dunno wat else to write.
i finished the death note manga!!!! the story got so complicated and there was so many dialogue that i got lost and ended up just looking at the pictures. but now i wanna get volume 13 which is a "how to read" with things about the characters, what the authors thought etc.
went to hondarake! hehe finally.... and got sentaro #1, 2, 3, 6 and there was a sticker in one of them :D
oya, school news. i don't like maths now, and i'm so grateful that i've learnt all the stuff in tutor already; cos my maths teacher's gone on leave to recover from his operation : ( and so this other teacher comes into our class for like half the lesson to teach us for a while and then he goes back to his original class, but the way he teaches is so damn annoying!!
firstly, he doesn't let us copy the stuff he writes on the board, because he thinks that it's "annoying" when we write when he's explaining, but then at the end of the lesson, he says, "hurry up and write this down, i dont have time" omg. i (basically the whole class) 'dislike' him!!
and he talks to us like we're so stupid!! and he always stops after explaining something to see if we understand, but it gets annoying after a while cos we don't wanna go "yes, we understand" after every sentence, so he just stands there and there's like a pause/silence for a few seconds.... omg!!
i want my old teacher back!!!!
wa this entry is so full of hate.
ok den... more cheerful news... more cheerful news... hmmmmmmmmm oya koshi's hair's grown again!!! and it's so short and neat, and so he looks cute again *yay* and his fur feels like phoenix's (the baby phoenix) head!!
and yesterday, cc oni rented dvds. and i shall give my verdict:
lovewrecked (amanda bynes) - waste of time!!!! typical teen movie, and as usual, the girl character repeats the guy character's dialogue (or vice versa) to show that they (or the movie) is smart, which is really cheesy and it doesn't really work. um i don't think my sentence makes sense but o well.
save the last dance 2 - similar feel to the first one.
little miss sunshine - the characters make this a really good movie! those who've watched the movie will agree.
this blog entry is really crap
i'm sorry.

osu! tatakae! past life!
went on this website to find out who i was in my past life, and it's surprisingly accurate!
me:
Your past life diagnosis:
I don't know how you feel about it, but you were female in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern New Guinea around the year 1825. Your profession was that of a medic, surgeon or herbalist.
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
You had the mind of a scientist, always seeking new explanations. Your environment often misunderstood you, but respected your knowledge.
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your lesson is to study, to practice and to use the wisdom that lies within the psychological sciences and in ancient manuscripts. With strong faith and hard work you will reach your real destiny in your present life.
Do you remember now?
sounds like me right! i wanna be a medic and i like science!!
and so i tried putting in other people's. so i put cc oni's, and some stuff which i thought was like her:
"Your profession was that of a handicraftsman or mechanic." - jewellery making/model making in uni etc.
and koki's one was even more accurate!
"I don't know how you feel about it, but you were female in your last earthly incarnation." - koki's pretty girly, smoother face than me and likes looking at the mirror hahaha it's true.
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
Timid, constrained, quiet person. You had creative talents, which waited until this life to be liberated. Sometimes your environment considered you strange. - yep, sometimes quiet/constrained and hv creative talents which are being liberated!!
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your main task is to make the world more beautiful. Physical and spiritual deserts are just waiting for your touch. Keep smiling! - make more beautiful with design?
but anyways, i think it's very accurate!! if u wanna find out for urself, go to the website, all you hv to do is type your birthday in.
ok. next topic.
finally found a website to download the nintendo ds games!! and so i finally got osu! tatakae! ouendan!! the game's waay better than the english one, if u go yes asia u can read my review hehehe (on the english one, to discourage people from buying it).
oya i forgot. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!
and the SANRIO shop in chinatown is open again!! now it's near the cat shop and ppl say it's bigger and better! (and more expensive)
supposed to be doing homework now. got five assignments/assessments!!! and 3 are from english!! and the teacher that's a grammar freak and smells of lavender uses such long/difficult words in the question so basically the whole class is stressing right now.
ok, let's not end this post with english stuff.
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala.
i like chem better than bio now.
and i just learnt today that silicon is not the stuff put in boobs. that one is 'silicone' which contains silicon, carbon and oxygen.
and i also got a tenshi nanka janai artbook!!!! hehehee for those that's read my past posts, i was obsessed with the manga and still am now.
i'll post the photos later when i bother, ok!

bio excursion and jap dramas
went to long reef rock platform which took around 50 minutes from school. basically, we went to the rock platforms there and looked at the animals that were there. the first half was ok, cos we only saw the shelled animals, but there was those mini anemone things that close up when you touch them. we also tested the temperature, pH and salinity of the air and the ocean and rockpool water.
the second half was way better though! we did a 'catch and release' thing, so we had to find an animal and then draw a diagram and fill in some info about them. our group did it on a 'nudibranch seaslug' which doesn't sound that exciting, but it was this lemon yellow-white coloured slug with these wavy things on its back and it even had 'tentacles' that looked like a horn. yas found this 'sea hare' which was a HUMONGOUS slug which had a length of about 1.5 of my hand!!! it felt so gross and weird.....
there were also a crab and sea urchins, and it was the first time that i actually held the urchin it in my palm and felt it 'moving' with its spikes..
the excursion was really good and not pointless at all, but when we had to walk back from the first place to have lunch, it took like 20 minutes!! in the hot sun balancing on rocks. our shoes basically turned to sand.
jap dramas that i'm watching now:
dare yorimo mama wo ai su
told from the point of view of 11 year old 'kaoru' who thinks his family is really weird, cos his mom's a lawyer and his dad's a stay at home dad. the brother is a hairdresser and is like the big sister of the family, and the sister is rough like the big brother of the family..
the story's pretty simple, but the way it's told and the way the dad's character is portrayed is really interesting.
oya, and the dad is so much like a housewife!! and their neighbour is this weird black-wearing lady who's really messy and creepy looking.
hana yori dango 2 (no good photo found) - i want makino and domyoji together!!!! who cares about rui.
hehe just watched the video of "einstein" the smart grey parrot that appeared on animal planet's "pet star" ^__^ was he the parrot that can understand the meaning of "zero"..... i think so...

tsukareta~
8/2/07
fed biscotti the free purina food that i got in the mail, and then took a really cute photo of her using her paw to get the food out!! hehe i knew she was gonna do that cos she was staring at the packet and started to move her front legs, so i quickly rushed to get the camera hehehe : D
spying at the food
*nyoinks*
9/2/07
had the year 11 reflection day (there's one every year, it's purpose is to 'bond' us together as a community..) at the 'chevalier centre' near the very nice church in kensington where kk vito got married.
the place is at the back of the seminary which was really big, spacious, and full of nice plants, but the hall itself is a normal size.
had a few activities, but the first one was sorta weird, it was like musical chairs, but when the music stopped you had to go 'back to back' or 'nose to nose' with your partner... nose to nose was weird, especially when the teacher demonstrated o_o...
anyhoo, the teachers gave us puzzle pieces, and when you found other people that had pieces to make the same puzzle, you formed your group; but my favourite english teacher from last year, gave the pieces out to people in the one area only, so after the teacher said "ok, find your group" we didn't really have to move around... haha wat de...
and i was in the sunflower group. so had usual activities from this booklet bla bla bla and at the end, you had to think of a talent or skill that you'd like to develop, and den they'd give you a flower seed that matches with your group name, and so that after you plant it and it grows, it's supposed to symbollise your skill/talent growing too (good symbolism ei!). i ended up having two flowers! cos ching didn't want hers, so now i have sunflower and marigold!
random thing which i thought was really funny: we were playing this game where you slap two fingers on the other person's wrist really hard, and when we went back into the hall from lunch, bekki and lisa said "can i do it to you?" to ching, and after she said "no", they started to hit her with their rolled up booklets!! ahhaha... yea it doesn't sound funny typed *sigh*.
went to borders at night cos i got a 15% off discount and got marley and me!! and when we were at the gloria jeans section, as usual with a huge pile of magazines on the table, this lady - which happens to be a teacher from school - just comes towards us, and goes through the pile and took some for herself to read!! i don't think she realised that the table was not a communal one.... but when i said "itu guru dari skolah lho" (that's a teacher from school lho) she turned around o_o"
oya, i got $1 discount cos the person at the cashier was getting frustrated at the slow computer which was stuffing up and typed the wrong price in :D
10/2/07
played brain age after two weeks of not playing, and my age dropped to 26!!!! :"(
piano was boring today cos we only talked about the facts and modulations on the bach piece..
then went home and watched the dog whisperer (starring cesar milan) and it was amazing how the dogs could feel his aura and suddenly become calm..
anyways, then went outside to play with the cats, and i was supposed to take this really cute photo of biscotti drinking water while lying lazily on the ground, but when i came back, she stopped drinking... but i ended up taking (what i think is) the best picture of biscotti ever!!! even though it sorta makes her look boyish..
tada!
and this photo makes her look cute..
i printed out nakashima mika piano sheet music later, but when i played it, they're sorta out of tune... not as good as i was expecting :"(
oya, say hello to chinta! i don't think she's appeared on this blog yet! she's standing up on two legs here cos she thinks i'm bringing her food..
and to the pigeon that comes everyday and eats the guinea pig food that falls on the grass.
Thursday, February 08, 2007
finally!!!! up to today~
haha anyways, started the day with maths, and so weird/funny cos mr. lisi (the teacher) knocked on the door connecting to the other room with another maths class, and when the other teacher opened the door, they were both talking to each other, and they both had the same colour clothes!! so funny!! and when the teachers went out of the doorway, i could see the other people (students), but since my desk was directly infront of the door, it was really weird cos they were just looking through at staring at me hahaha i can't explain properly but it made me laugh. hahahahahhaha ......!alsdjflakj yes.
had peer-support today, and kinda grateful that i have amy as my partner, cos half the yr 7s don't listen to me! probably because amy's the leader kinda person, so she repeats what i say in a different way so that they understand more clearly... dammit i can't speak properly!
oya btw at lunch, found out that lisa and bekki watches hana yori dango too!!
last period was chem. i decided that i REALLY hate experiments now (i never liked them, except if it's making something or cutting something up). we ended up wasting around 20 matches trying to light the Bunsen burner, and at the end of the lesson, the tiny amount of salt that we managed to obtain from evaporating the water, got dissolved again, cos the water moved when i tried to move the dish to the window sill to leave it to naturally evaporate over the weekends cos we didn't have enough time to finish.
and finally, i've caught up with my blogging!!!! heheheh. ok bye.
oya btw, tv series that i'm watching now is: heroes, so you think you can dance (and next week, ugly betty!)
