miscellaneous photos posting!

the finished puzzle which i bought from tokyo disneyland!! (the mickey faces on the border are glow in the dark... but sometimes i forget, so after i turn off my light at night to sleep, suddenly there's these glowing mouse head shapes... so scary)

a funny quote from aesop's (cosmetic brand) bag

biscotti sleeping under the frangipani tree

bird-feed that i made! it's made out of guinea pig 'snacks', but i don't think it's snack-y enough (ie. too healthy as it's only got corn mainly) so no one wants to eat it, so rather than throwing it away... tada! but i don't think the bird's found it yet, cos don't have big trees to put it on, so it's kinda on a small tree slightly hidden by the branches : (

got a new craft book from kino! it shows you how to make cakes, cookies, waffles, etc from felt : D so cute!!
i was gonna make the cookies for christmas presents (cos they'r
e the easiest), but it takes agesss!!!!! (around 2 hrs to make one) so i gave up after making 4. and i'm keeping one for myself, so only got 3 to give away..

quality control is not existent here.. they're all different sizes.

ok done.
*now i have to start my english speech :"(
*noooo~ :"(

c'etait une bonne jour

for some reason it started out a crap day for me - sleepy, not in the mood to speak, etc, etc, but after lunch when the chem teacher had his "shave off" ie. he shaved off his beard and moustache which was about 16 yrs old (or something), everything became so.. nice!

we watched a movie in French (thought was gonna have a crap time with ms. t the weird asian teacher that seems racist to her own kind!) called "la Choriste", about this teacher who came to this boys' boarding school in the 50s etc, and about him making his own choir from his usually rowdy class. Really good movie so far, i hope i can finish watching it.

Then in chem, went to the computer room and played this titration simulation on the internet, and it was so cool! why can't we just get tested online... instead of doing the actual prac.... takes ages!! (and it's worth 20%!!! omgomgomgomg)

then had phoenix, and i finished whole past booklet!!! yayyy

and at home, watched "the Secret" with jay chou in it, and all the piano playing were so cool!! i'm gonna go google for the OST and the music scores now :D

*update* i found the (unofficial but good enough) scores! yayyy!

pigeons!

they were fighting in the backyard, and after they stopped, one of them stayed on the fence as is guarding the one that's still on the grass. and then they continually made pigeon noises: "oo-ooo" and i could hear a weird whistling bird sound, but i don't know if it's really from the pigeon on the fence..

and it's a bit weird/cute cos if the one in the backyard moves towards the back, the one on the fence will move in that direction as well, but he's a bit uncoordinated, so he'll lose his footing and balance himself with his wings! hahaha looks so funny, and there's a gap in the fence, so he hops! hahahhhaha omg pigeons are so amusing.

i'll post the video later (haha feel like a suburban david attenborough)

my boss my hero

my next drama obsession!!! "my boss my hero" it's soooooooo funnnyyyyyyy!! less obvious funny compared to hana kimi though, but still laugh-out-loud.

story is: sagaki makio is a 27 yr old yakuza next in line to be the boss, but after he lost a 27 billion yen deal because he couldn't count the dad told him that he had to go to high school and graduate before he could be the next boss.

the guy's acting is so funny!! and the story is good too, not just full of idiotic happenings.

here's some screencaps!

slick yakuza hairhis underling (bald one) sewed it for him lolhe didn't want to get called up to the board, so he gave a death stare to the teacherlate to school, so had to do an aerobics routine, but he kept on saying "AGNES!" (school is "st. agnes") at the wrong time

so funny!! everyone should watch it on crunchyroll :D
btw, the guy is the singer/guitarist from tokio! and it's got the girl from papa to musume no nanokakan

the secret - book-

after i read the first chapter last week or so, i came across the secret (forgot who the author is) in a magazine, saying that since it's about the law of attraction, after you read or hear about the book, you will inevitably see or hear about it again someway or another, and it's true! after i read it, saw it again in a magazine, then in the sydney morning herald review! and just yesterday, was watching this cooking show with an assistant that looked like john cusack, and when i went to the apple trailers website, the newest trailer had... john cusack!! whoa.
ok.
law of attraction, attract these things to me:
confidence
humour
happiness
joy
let see what will happen in a few days time.

*update
waaaaaaaa just watched the trailer for that movie, "Grace is Gone" and it looks so good!!
about this awkward dad whose wife has just died while in the army, but he doesn't know how to tell his two daughters. yep my summary doesn't sound "so good!!" but watch it! www.apple.com/trailers

stupid postoffice guy!!

you see someone waiting, obviously wanting some assistance because she's not in the normal queue like all the other people, but what do you do?? make small talk about how something was raised by "twenty bucks" this year, and commenting on how the numbers on the dockets are so similar "i thought they were the same! *Gasp*" omg actually do something useful!!
and when you serve the person who's been waiting silently, don't talk with a tone as if they're a bother to you, don't talk so condescendingly, just because i'm wearing a school uniform doesn't mean i'm so stupid that you have to ask such useless questions like "how much do you want?" when i give you $2 to swap for 20c coins, and don't waste my time by counting the 20cent coins slowly in a demeaning way before you give them to me. i can count them myself. i don't need some time-wasting idiot to tell me how to count by 20s.

Monkey and pigeon

It's a tale straight out of Disney – an abandoned baby monkey, close to death, is revived by the love of a bird.

The 12-week-old macaque was rescued on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province, China, after being abandoned by his mother.

Taken to an animal hospital, he was weaned back to physical health but still showed little appetite for life.

It was not until a fellow patient, a white pigeon, took him under her wing and showed him love and affection that he perked up.

Now the two are inseparable, say staff.

They are not the first odd couple. In March, we told how a tiger cub in China was being raised by a sow along with her piglets because his mother didn't know how to feed him.

And in 2005 Mi-Lu the baby deer became best friends with lurcher Geoffrey at the Knowsley Animal Park, in Merseyside, after being rejected by her mother.

love you, koshi : )

just as i said yesterday, don't want koshi to suffer anymore, and today he didn't anymore. Walked to the backyard to feed the boys, and saw koshi lying on his side, not moving.. obviously i knew what happened, but still, i was ambivalent whether to really feel sad or not. i checked whether he was really gone, but it was clear after his chest was not moving and his body felt really cold. i thought that i would feel more relieved, that he doesn't have to be in pain anymore, but still, to think that i went inside yesterday and made myself not go outside so that i don't have to face the fact that i'm neglecting him by not taking him to the vet, or even thinking that my stupid exams was more important, that i did not really have to make him better as soon as i can. i guess i didn't realise how bad a condition he was in, until i saw all the rough skin all over his side, and under his mouth. the saddest thing was that his eyes was still opened when he died, and you can see that he didn't go in his sleep. can't believe i just neglected him just because he had recovered previously, and because of some lazy hope, -thought- that the same thing will somehow happen again, even though i saw how he couldn't even eat or move properly. i'm so sadddddd!
i will always remember the pudgy, overweight, guinea pig who greeted me with a really girly squeak whenever i stepped into the garage and posed by putting one of his front paws on top of each other when i took a picture of him. the one i always made fun of cause he always looked like an tubby gay guinea pig. i'll remember you forever, my first real pet.

news:

have exams...again : (
but, still, i'll report to you new things that happened:

drove around the block in the car - scary, moved very slowly

watched ratatouille
- sooooooooo good!!! unintentionally laugh out (really) loud funny at times; i even downloaded the song "le festin" by camille (actually i downloaded the whole soundtrack :D)

something sad: the school principal died today, the assembly was so strange because everyone was quiet even before the teacher shushed them.

fed biscotti the new whiskas "so fishy" range
, and the food was "too fishy", that she couldn't stop licking her mouth and cleaning her face, and couldn't even finish the whole pouch! and when i gave the leftover (there was a lot) to phoebe, she couldn't finish it either!!
and a funny thing she did: she wanted to pee, but instead of digging a hole in the sand to pee in, she looked for an already dug up part of the sand, so she didn't have to dig... so lazy...

another sadder news - koshi's fungi skin problem is back. i tried shampooing him with the special shampoo, but not working, and he's really thin, not moving, and his eyes are wayyyy in his eye socket, and there's secretions coming out of it...
and he can't even chew food properly anymore, i gave him pellets, and he tried to chew it, but it just fell out, or if he does manage to swallow it, he really struggles.
haiyah, why now when i have exams and when i'm going to go away soon *sigh*
don't want him to die, but don't want him to suffer either... *sigh*

mary, mungo, midge & slappy

waaaa so cute!!! found this article from dailymail.co.uk about baby orphaned hedgehogs who decided that a brush is their mum! *awww*

here it is: dunno who the author is though..

ORPHANED HEDGEHOGS ADOPT CLEANING BRUSH AS THEIR MOTHER

Four tiny orphaned hedgehogs are snuggling up to the bristles of a cleaning brush - because they think it's their mother.

The four inch long creatures are being hand-reared by staff at the New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park in Ashurst, Hants.

Workers say Mary, Mungo, Midge and Slappy get comfort from playing with the centre's cleaning brush and enjoy rubbing against it.

Daft as a brush: These orphaned hedgehogs snuggle up to thier adoptive brush mother

The smells on the brush, which is used to sweep a yard, remind the hedgehogs of their natural habitat while the texture reminds them of their mother.

Manager John Crooks, 41, said: "They are a bit like human babies - they need activities to keep them busy.

"Because they have very poor eyesight you have to appeal to their sense of smell and touch by giving them different scents and textures.

"They like natural scents and have enjoyed playing with our cleaning brushes, soil, leaves, flower pots and the like.

"They particularly seem to enjoy rubbing against the brush.

"It may sound odd but I imagine the bristles feel a bit like their mum."

Tiny: Two of the little hedgehogs

He added: "Three of the hedgehogs came to us because their mum was sadly crushed by a council palette truck at one of their depots.

"They are only a couple of weeks old.

"The fourth one is a little bit older and was found wandering around a back garden in the middle of the day.

"The home owner left it alone for a while to see if it would find its mum but after a few hours it was still by itself so she brought it into to us."

The hedgehogs will be fed until they are full-sized and then they will be released back into the wild.

John said: "We are feeding them milk powder mixed with kitten food - but they don't like fish flavour - they prefer nice meaty chunks.

"When they get older they will move onto proper cat food and will occasionally be given slugs and snails as a treat.

"There has been a real surge in slugs this year because of the wet weather so hopefully that will mean a good year for hedgehogs too.

"I would urge people not to kill garden slugs with pellets because the poison will be passed on to hedgehogs and a build up of poison could be fatal.

"If the weather is good they could be released in a month or so, otherwise we will feed them over the winter so they do not hibernate and then release them in spring."

Playtime: The baby hedgehogs enjoy themselves with their 'mother'

He added: "They are quite a handful and each has their own character.

"One is quite snappy and another fairly sleepy."

mooooooon

tonight was a lunar eclipse! the total eclipse was at 7:59pm but i forgot about it, so looked at it at around 8 something pm, but you can still see it a bit, though it was no longer red like the newspaper said it was supposed to be. At first i didn't think there was anything different, except that the moon is especially bright, but after 4 seconds or so, it kinda glowed this blue light around the moon's edges... and being a person who just got a new pentax camera ( :D ) i got it out cos the newspaper said that using a digital camera on zoom was a good way to see it (yes i trust the sydney morning herald) and so i did, but the picture turned out pretty crap, so i decided to record it, and the blue light/rays of the sun which i guess was 'coming out' from behind the moon, became more obvious, and the moon seemed kinda black... it was really weird when i watched the movie playback cos the area surrounding the moon was glowing sorta alien-like! or should i say ghost-like! because incidentally mum said that today is the hungry ghost festival thing when apparently all the ghosts come out..

for those that's not used to chinese superstition - lots of weird things happen at this time (even made into this singaporean -or is it malaysian- movie called 'the maid', where the maid accidentally swept the ashes of the burnt offerings or something, then weird things started happening to her) yes anyways... mum even said 'don't go out' when i said i wanna look at the moon, but then she went out to see herself anyways... and somebody else also said that when you're walking on the streets at night, don't look back or something, cos you might see some... spectral being... yes ok getting off topic to a topic which i'm actually afraid of.

ok my first attempt at putting a video on this blog! it's the clip of the (partial) lunar eclipse :D whoa~ (apparently the next time you can see it in sydney is 2011 o_o)

*note: i'll put the video up when the internet is fast again, because it's uploading around 5kb per second, and there's 49 mb so.... if i was to wait, it'll take about.... 163 minutes!!!

ok. so wait until the first of next month when the speedy internet is revived.

miaow

i let biscotti sleep on the couch last night! since it was raining and i don't want to get the usual *nyeh!* of annoyance from her, which i get when i try to squeeze my hand between her neatly curled body to lift her and take her outside.
and this morning, i heard mama waking up at around 6 something, and saying "kok biscotti di dalem!?" (why is biscotti inside?!) hahahhaha but i was too tired to get up from my bed, so continued to sleep... until i woke up and it was 8:20am already!!! only 15 minutes till school starts! so rush rush rush and of course since i'm rushing, got no time for mama to question me about why the cat is inside the house hehe

amazingly, left the house at 8:28, arrived 8:38. just 2 minutes away from being marked late :D *yea!*

getting jap visa tomorrow! yay leave school early!

btw, it's science week at school! and there are three very science-y events going on:
guess the scientists - 12 pictures of scientists and have to figure out who they are. only have four to go! but someone else will probably finish it before us.
murder mystery - a girl died and a teacher killed her. clues (one released every day until friday) so far:
killed 4:30 pm on monday
murderer left a wet shoe print (high heels, size 5-6)
lipstick mark on tissue
blood and hair samples
shopping list
50c coin
so.... it's a female teacher who wears lipstick... (or a male teacher who pretended to be a girl?)
science show - in the main quad with liquid nitrogen (again) but not sure, cos it's been raining and plus might not be able to get the liquid nitrogen.

jaa mata
